'Grand Dessert' - Our work is amongst Dessert Royalty in the Haag

The Fake Food Workshop was thrilled to be invited to make replica desserts for 'Grand Dessert' Exhibition at Kunstmuseum Den Haag, running from 23 November 2024 to 6 April 2025. Curated by Janny van der Heijden and Suzanne Lambooy, this extensive exhibition explored the history and artistry of desserts through works by multiple artists and historical collections.

As a small part of this remarkable showcase, we provided handcrafted replicas including:

Heritage jellies inspired by traditional moulds.

Meringues, pavlovas, soufflés, and whipped cream desserts.

Fruit tarts, sponge cake slices, and ice cream replicas, designed to evoke classic patisserie.

Ice Creams waffle cones and multi-stacks.

We were humbled to contribute to such an inspiring exploration of dessert history and creativity

Our work complemented the broader exhibition, which featured contributions from Dessert Royalty like Ivan Day, Rommy De Bommy, and Kate Jenkins and many more, alongside stunning historical objects.

It offered us the opportunity to present our work within a wider narrative celebrating the cultural and artistic significance of desserts. We were humbled to contribute to such an inspiring exploration of history and creativity.
