Job Description: Fake Food Sculptor
Position: Assistant to Lead Sculptor

Job Overview
The Fake Food Workshop is seeking a self-employed Fake Food Sculptor to support the production of heritage-inspired fake food replicas. This is a hands-on, physical role that involves casting, assembling, and finishing products using materials such as Jesmonite. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to our creative process while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
Casting and Molding:
Assist in preparing molds and casting blanks, primarily with Jesmonite.
Ensure consistent quality and adherence to design specifications.
Assembly:
Assemble components of the fake food replicas, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
Finishing and Maintenance:
Sand, trim, and clean cast pieces to prepare them for painting.
Keep tools, equipment, and the workspace clean and well-maintained.
Support Production Efficiency:
Work closely with the Lead Sculptor to streamline production processes and meet deadlines.
Clean and Tidy Workspace:
Maintain a neat and organized workshop to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Expectations
Deliver high-quality work in line with design standards.
Be punctual, reliable, and able to manage tasks independently.
Communicate effectively with the Lead Sculptor and team members.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines during all tasks.
Pay Structure
Hourly Rate: £15/hour
Estimated Hours: 10 hours per week to start (flexible schedule, subject to workload).
Payment will be processed monthly upon receipt of an invoice.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in casting, sculpting, or related hands-on craftwork preferred (training provided).
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
Physically capable of handling tools and materials in a workshop environment.
Important Notes
The workshop is unheated, so appropriate clothing is recommended during colder months.
This is a self-employed role; the successful candidate is responsible for managing their own taxes and insurance.

Work Independently: Complete tasks from your home or studio, managing your time effectively.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience working with acrylic paints is essential.

Position: Fake Food Sales

Job Overview
The Fake Food Workshop is seeking a self-employed Fake Food Sales team member to manage online sales, logistics, customer interactions, and support our point-of-sale operations at the Fake Food Store. To start, we are offering approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility to adjust as needed. While this role is currently offered on a self-employed basis, there may be an opportunity to transition into a more permanent position in the future.
What You’ll Do
Order Management: Process sales orders from Shopify, Etsy, and other online marketplaces.
Logistics and Shipping: Prepare parcels, create labels, and organize dispatch for UK and international deliveries.
Customer Relations: Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Stock Control: Track inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to ensure stock availability.
Point-of-Sale Support: Serve customers at our Fake Food Store, providing an excellent in-person shopping experience.
Desirable Skills
Experience with building and maintaining Shopify.
Knowledge of social media management to help grow our online presence.

Experience with Shopify and Etsy platforms is essential.
